While I firmly believe that there are just about a thousand reasons why you should do engagement photos, sending out Save The Dates is a HUGE one! If you’re planning a wedding with guests then chances are you’ll be sending out Save The Date cards.
When should I send out Save The Date Cards?
I typically recommend that couples send out cards about 3-4 months ahead if the wedding and all guests are local and about 6 months if your wedding requires travel. If you’re planning a destination wedding (think out of state or out of the country) you’ll want to consider giving your guests even more advance notice since they’ll need to do a lot more planning.
Where is the best place to order from?
What a great question! In a sea of wedding products and services one of my absolute favorites is Basic Invite (www.basicinvite.com). Basic Invite literally does it all when it comes to wedding invitations, save the dates, thank you cards, and more! They use wedding invitation sets to make all of your wedding stationary and even your wedding website totally cohesive! As a photographer who thrives on consistency and just a person who loves when everything coordinates – this is one of my favorite features!
While they have set designs you can start with their Save The Date cards are completely customizable. Basic Invite has tons of fonts and 180 colors which means you can match your wedding colors and fonts perfectly. Along with various fonts and colors you can change the paper quality as well, in fact one of my favorite new options they have is a save the date magnet! Like seriously – how cool is that?! It’s pretty much a way to guarantee that you’ll stay on your guests’ fridges forever! If you’re anything like me and you like to feel and touch to make sure you’re happy with a product you can order a printed sample to be sent to your house before you place your final order.
One of the tasks that can be the most frustrating is to collect all the addresses, but don’t you fret because Basic Invite takes care of that for you too! You can use their free address collection service to share a link via social media or email and collect addresses and get FREE envelope printing!
Can you tell?! I would never recommend a product or company that I haven’t tried and absolutely love. This company really does take so much stress out of wedding planning in terms of stationary. I’m telling you – if you can print it for your wedding – they got it, and at affordable prices too! You can find them on social media @basicinvite or just head over to their website www.basicinvite.com and use the code 15FF51 for a 15% off discount!
