Kim and Brendan are artists. They value art, joy and Jesus over everything and it shone throughout their entire wedding day! I honestly love how much their wedding reflected their relationship, which sounds silly because of course it was THEIR wedding, but lemme tell you. Kim and Brendan spent most of their relationship long distance, which meant Snapchat was a MUST. So, to celebrate that aspect of their relationship, in the middle of their ceremony they played a whole adorable slideshow of their favorite snaps back and forth and had their first kiss documented on Snapchat to be their 1,200th snap streak. A.DOR.ABLE.
Kim and Brendan were married at Kim’s church in Newbury Park. These two decked out the venue with boho rugs, pillows and hanging lights that made the venue completely unique. Their color scheme was artistic and vibrant and totally their own. From the flowers on the tables and the cake to the bridesmaids dresses, it was a damn boho dream! Kim and Brendan opted not to do a first look on their wedding day. Instead, they joined back to back to share a prayer before walking down the aisle. My heart could have burst. Right there. Just exploded.
Then, surrounded by their family and friends, they had an interfaith ceremony that combined their Christian and Jewish faiths and spirits into one. They spent the rest of the day gettin down to Yeah! by Usher, laughing with family, and chowing down on a donut tower (I know – a DONUT TOWER). It was truly a beautiful day spent with beautiful people.
Day After Wedding Shoot
I don’t want to sound like Billy Mays here (ya’ll remember the cleaning guy) BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE. We spent multiple hours leading up to their wedding on Facetime calls going over details and getting to know each other. By the time we actually met, we were basically already best friends! During our wedding preparation, they mentioned wanting to do a beach adventure session the day after their wedding and you best believe we made it happen. Kim and Brendan woke up the day after their wedding and spent the morning running into the waves of El Matador Beach in Malibu and I documented the whole beautiful thing. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to El Matador but I’m talking the kind of beach that makes you want to drive to California and just live on the beach like a hobo.
Basically Kim and Brendan showed such love and appreciation for everyone and it was truly an absolute joy to be the one to document their day. They are more than clients now, they’re friends. One might say, friends fo’ life.
