It was a Saturday afternoon at Buffalo Wild Wings that we decided to elope. We told our families, I got my dress at a local prom dress store, my mom and sister scoped out a spot. Our wedding may have been short on planning, but it was perfect. Our families truly came together in the most beautiful way. I have to give a shout out to my Dad who built our wedding arch, my little sisters who spent hours cleaning up the site and creating something beautiful, my mom who bought and set up decor (if I listed everything my mom did for me I’d go on forever), my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws who brought desserts, my wonderful photographer (Dan Page Photography hey-o!), and everyone who came to celebrate us. I’d like to say that our wedding was my dream wedding and that it was exactly how I imagined it, but that would be a lie. In my dream I probably wouldn’t have gone to work before rushing home to get ready for my wedding. Even though looking back there are a million things I would like to do differently, at the end of the day, I wouldn’t change a thing. Our wedding was beautiful because it was ours.
I never knew what people meant when they said “When you know, you know” until I met Dillon. I knew. I knew after our second date that I was going to love him forever. Yes, I hear myself being a giant cheese ball – but what can I say? He makes me cheesy. It’s a beautiful kind of love when you don’t need to speak for them to understand what you’re saying. When your days are full of inside jokes and little gestures that mean “I love you”. I didn’t know that taking out the garbage and switching out the laundry could be an act of love, but let me tell you, IT IS. He takes care of me, he makes me laugh, he loves and provides for our kids, he’s my best friend. There’s nobody else that I would rather share my fries and binge Netflix with.
