It’s not a secret that I am obsessed with the pacific northwest. So when I got the chance to go take engagements in Central Oregon – you can bet your bottom dollar I was pumped out of my mind. Jesse picked me up from the airport and we drove the half hour winding through Central Oregon to Smith Rock State Park. It was pouring the whole drive so we psyched ourselves up to shoot in the rain – it’s an adventure right?! But literally right as we got out of the car – the rain let up and the sun even peeked through the clouds for a minute. It was actually the definition of #blessed. We laughed and we hiked and I learned exactly how out of shape I am (very. I am very out of shape), and we even had three outfit changes. Smith Rock did not disappoint one bit. If I could sum up Jesse and Michael in one word in would be: darlin’. Not just because they are absolutely darling, but because I can’t even count how many times I heard the sweet phrase “Hey darlin” during our adventure through Smith Rock State Park. This tender term of endearment made me smile every single time and I mean honestly – it’s hard not to smile around these two. It’s the little things my couples do that make me love my job even more. Jesse had a vision of her and Michael atop a large rock – he lifted her up, she wanted to get one more shot with her red dress flowing in the freezing wind – he took off his jacket and held her close, she felt like dancing – he twirled her like they were on the dance floor. These sweet little acts of kindness might seem small, but they gave me a glimpse into the kind of love these two share. And it’s the best kind of love.
